About Jamie Cole

I am a second semester Senior at the University of Vermont completing a degree in Environmental Studies with a double minor in Agroeoclogy and Food Systems. Originally from the Bay Area, CA, I've always been surrounded by ecologically rich land. During my time at UVM, I developed a passion for regenerative agriculture. I am particularly drawn to its to improve our soils, water, and health. I interned at the UVM Horticultural Research and Education Center for the duration of my senior year where I was privileged to receive training from its diverse staff. I participated in an Agroecology Fellowship (ALC) for through my Junior and Senior year, where I facilitated Participatory Action Research between UVM and local Vermont Farms. In addition to Agriculture and Environmental Studies, I am also deeply passionate about outdoor recreation. This past summer, I worked as a Logistics Coordinator for UVM TREK, a pre orientation program that has been in operation since 1985. I led multiple overnight backpacking, canoeing, and camping trips. These greatly strengthened my leadership and communication skills.
