About Jamie Ewing

I believe in fostering a warm, caring and well-disciplined environment in which individual children can achieve their potential. I strive for excellent academic progress whilst also ensuring that every child in my care becomes a well-rounded and confident individual. As a middle leader, I am passionate about creating a supportive working environment for my colleagues in which everybody feels empowered and supported. I am determined to keep developing myself as an educational practitioner. I am working as a Year 6 teacher at Doha College, one of the world’s first accredited High Performance Learning Schools. Before this, I worked at one of the most prestigious and established schools in the Middle East - Doha English Speaking School as a Year 5/6 teacher and subject coordinator. I previously worked as Head of Year Four and Head of Year Two at King’s College Doha, which opened in 2016 and quickly became a leading school in the region. Qualified Primary School Teacher from Belfast, Ireland. PGCE from the top ranked teacher training provider in the U.K.(Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge). Experience teaching across KS1 and KS2 in the U.K. and in the Middle East. Prior to moving to Doha, I worked as a class teacher at an ‘Outstanding’ school in Cambridge, UK. In 2018, I completed the OLEVI Outstanding Teacher Programme. Before life in education, I worked as a legal conveyancer specialising in residential property following on from my law degree from Queen’s University Belfast. I also worked as a singer and actor and hold a Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance from the London College of Music. I love music and also sing in a band.
