I am a fashion industry professional with over 20 years experience working for high street and independent fashion labels both in Australia and the UK. I began my career as a pattern maker, becoming a senior pattern maker working for high street labels through the supplier side. I now work as a freelance designer/product developer, offering services to independent Australian labels. Because of my technical background, I have an in-depth understanding of garment architecture and construction techniques. Combined with a broad knowledge of design, product development and manufacture, my vast experience in women’s children’s and menswear in various sectors ensure a deep understanding and sensitivity to trends and commercial considerations. I have taught pattern making to first-year students at Kangan and Melbourne School of Fashion, as well as delivering product development day workshops to industry professionals through the Kangan Fashion Hub.
