About Jamie Hegel

G'day! Jamie here. What is it that I do? Well, I try and be as many things to as many people, a joker in the pack, if you will. The most I learnt from my degree in psychology, apart from the very sharp research skills I developed, was that I do not believe in the further perpetuation of compartmentalising of what we call "mental health". Having spent the last decade delving into the similarities between Eastern ways of liberation and Western psychotherapy, I realised while superficially beneficial, labelling everyday experience as anxiety, depression, and mental illness, builds them up into something other worldly. Whiles utilising best evidence informed practice, I believe it is important to think out of the box that is seemingly an echo chamber for the confirmation of what we already know. I want to help facilitate fundamental change. Whether that be through hosting events or connection through shared experience and conversation. Like to continue the conversation?
