About Jamie Henkel

Diversity and inclusion professional and educator – currently focused on LGBTQ cultural competency in areas including the workplace, healthcare, faith communities, and specifically focused on gender identity – with demonstrated success managing multiple projects that require collaboration with other departments as well as revenue generating programs at small, nationally based, non-profit organization with more than 400 chapters and members. Joined the PFLAG National staff in April 2008 as Operations Associate and worked with the Operations team for three years. Now a part of the Equality and Diversity Partnerships team. Experience prior to working at PFLAG includes two internships while an undergrad with the Richmond Peace Education Center and Hope in the Cities as well as part-time positions at the VCU University College, Great Wraps, and the Chesapeake Bagel Bakery and volunteer experience with a variety of organizations in Northern Virginia and Richmond, VA. Master of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in US Government from George Mason University Fairfax, VA. Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Studies with a concentration in Social Justice Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University Richmond, VA-Ideas/views/opinions here are my own and represent no organizations or companies with which I am affiliated.
