About Jamie Hurst

I often get asked the question, “How did you go from working in Public Health to Economic Development?” In short, I’m passionate about my city and undertaking projects that make it a better place to live, work, play and invest. Whether launching an innovative social enterprise to address issues of food insecurity or working with the local music industry to develop Ottawa’s first Music Strategy – I’ve been on a city building path from the start. Along the way, I’ve also developed a reputation for getting things done.and done well. I thrive in dynamic, challenging, and fast-paced environments and I pride myself on being resourceful, having sound judgement, and finding solutions to complex issues, to advance our city forward.
