I am the Economic Development Officer for Wheatland County, a large rural county approximately 20 minutes from the City of Calgary. I manage all economic development activities for the county, including budget, department reporting, strategic planning, marketing, contracts and supervision of contractors. Prior to working for Wheatland County, I was an Investment Attraction Manager for Alberta Agriculture and Forestry. I have also worked for the Alberta Emergency Management Agency and for several engineering firms. I started my career in economic development working as an Agriculture Project Officer for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade/Agriculture and Agrifood Canada in China where I did extensive work on the agri-food industry and developed an importer network.
