About Jamie McDermott

Jamie McDermott is the founder and owner of McDermott Nutrition, Inc, an independent nutrition consulting practice focused on weight loss and vibrant health in the Northwest Arkansas area. With a compassionate and trustworthy approach, Jamie helps individuals gain a better understanding of nutrition and make positive nutrition changes to improve their morale, productivity, and well being. She specializes in nutrition and behavioral counseling, nutrition education, positive lifestyle changes, supplements, and exercise, thereby creating a personalized nutrition and wellness plan. She aims to provide the highest quality services and materials to her clients in order to promote permanent lifestyle changes and achieve health related goals. Jamie holds a Master's degree in Nutrition and Food Studies from Marywood University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Bates College. Her approach is as much behavioral counseling as it is nutrition education; it is the combination of both in her practice that leads to her clients' permanent change and lasting success. She is accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and is a member of the Arkansas District Dietetic Association. In addition to her private practice, Jamie has served as a nutrition consultant for ESPN, the University of Tennessee, and Solace, LLC, an intensive outpatient eating disorder facility. Over the past two years she has served as a research coordinator for a large clinical trial in the Food Science Department at the University of Arkansas.
