About Jamie Menninga

I grew up in construction.from the family business to a $1.5 billion national specialty contractor, and now helping all self-performing contractors build more productive, profitable crews. My experience from a small tyke goes from pushing a broom, engraving panel labels, prefabbing assemblies (mostly fixture whips in that day), working as a grunt in the field during high school summers, apprenticeship, Foreman, estimating, working under the president doing labor and financial reporting, tracking tools, a period in HR (that was fun!), and in business development. From there I went to work for a company outside the family business a few states over as a Project Manager. I also was appointed as a lead person to implement and train others on a new project management system. It was at this company where I met my business partner, one of my bosses :). At Construction Monkey, we have spent the last several years (not including the years as contractors) working on nothing but developing a web app built around a simple process that can be implemented immediately to capture real-time data to not only to know what is happening out in the field, but also improve production that leads to better productivity and higher profits. This can't happen unless you make the ones using it happy. We accomplish this by saving the field and office hours a week in tasks they are already doing (or best practices they should be doing, but don't because it takes too much time) daily, weekly, monthly, or as needed. What motivates me is seeing and hearing the "aha" moments from the Foremen, Superintendents, Project Managers, Operations Managers, Presidents, and Owners of the contractors we help. That's my story in a nutshell. I have an auto-racing background as well, but no time to get into that. I'd love to connect with you to see how we can help each other out.
