About Jamie Patrick

There has never been an era of my life where I have not had my nose in a book. My parents reading to me from the earliest age; digging into local fantasy writers, books on myth, and a multitude of YA series as a child and teen; picking up the classics in my later education; and now, with my over-encumbered book shelf straining against the weight of my collection. With a BA in English Literature w/ Creative Writing and an MA in Publishing, literature is evidently my passion. The creation of narrative, the intricacies of weaving pathos and logos, the production chain constructing the physical book in my hand, all aspects of the intellectual and physical process of creating literature hold my fixation. Be it writing myself, editing the works of others, or putting my hand into the marketing and publicity of a text, I strive to enter into the publishing industry. Most of my early adulthood was spent in full time education to submerge myself into the academic history of publishing and literature, allowing me to build my understanding of what enthrals me. With my training in Publishing at UCLan, I was given insight into most every area of the supply chain, from publicity to rights management. It is the editorial process which I excel at most, in most of its aspects: sensitivity, copy, line, proofreading, developmental. The structuring of the written word is an artform, and I love to cultivate its beauty.
