About Jamie Pytel
I am considered one of the premier workplace investigators and consultants in Canada. My broad experience as a 30-year lawyer and prior in-house role as a General Counsel for a major utility helps me to provide a well-rounded, business perspective to this work. In 2017 I co-founded Kingsgate Legal so that I could do neutral, apolitical work that I believe in. Since starting the firm, I have conducted or over overseen over 300 investigations and a myriad of workplace culture and governance assessments. A particular area of expertise is investigations in the context of elected officials, Councils, or board members. In 2018, I was appointed as the City of Edmonton's first Integrity Commissioner and have gone on to be appointed as Integrity Commissioner in other jurisdictions, and to complete similar work in political environments.
