About Jamie Venable

I’ve made a career out of doing what I love – building high performing teams filled with exceptional people, then empowering, challenging, and collaborating with them to do meaningful work. Part of that comes from fostering a strong culture, one which allows great people and great work to thrive. I’m privileged to have helped drive growth and innovation with some greats like Activision, Electronic Arts, and The Upper Deck. For more than ten years, I built a visual effects startup that contributed to the visual effects of some of Hollywood’s all-time biggest blockbusters. I have a proven track record of success in leadership roles, transforming teams, and organizations, into high performers, across the gaming and media industries, with a focus on quality and profitability—my career spans from small startups to large enterprises. In my current role as the Senior Director, Business Operations, I drive world-class solutions to help solve our biggest challenges – at times, those challenges can be the increasingly complex nature of games. In many ways, games never finish even after they go live. Teams continuously create new content, and the studios and groups that create these games are global. Creating efficiencies and centralizing common development tools with a global team always keeps me moving forward. My projects have been recognized by both the gaming and entertainment industry with the Best App for Bad Robot’s Action Movie FX application, three Academy Award nominations for visual effects, and a five-time best-selling video game. My most important role is mentor, team builder, and talent developer. Whether I am coaching youth sports or building teams for Fortune 100 companies, creating environments where individuals are empowered, and the collective excels is the most satisfying part of leadership.
