About Jamie West

Have you ever met someone who is the third generation in road building? How about the first female in the family to run a road safety business? That’s me! I come from a long family history with deep roots in the road safety industry.If you had asked me 30 years ago where I saw myself, I would most likely have said in a psychology role. Like many, a series of unlikely choices led me to where I am today, which is President of Peninsula Construction, Inc. based in Niagara, Ontario and Roadblock Solutions based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A core value of mine is family and when my father was looking to pass the reins to a family-run company, something inside of me called me to step up and dive into the business headfirst. For over 25 years I’ve learned the ins and outs of road safety, pushed boundaries, and built relationships in Canada and the US to help solidify the essential work our team does.As President, I was excited to be selected as an acquisition of RSG International in 2023. Together, we are carving out a path for future leaders and helping to shape advances in road safety. My passion for the industry has been reinvigorated and I am dedicated to helping others create a life-long career in this often-overlooked industry.Recently, my team has set out to change the stigma around the construction industry. Together, we are finalizing a career path program so individuals can envision a future within the company and have natural career progressions. For the first time in history, more women are entering the construction industry challenging the status quo and reaching leadership levels. It is my goal to continue to champion certifications, create an all-women’s crew, and additional professional development opportunities.I’m excited to be a leader in the construction industry during such an evolutionary period of growth and look forward to building a strong community of incredible women and future leaders.As we continue to build in Canada and the US, I welcome connections from other General Contractors, Road Safety Experts, Women in Leadership, and individuals who aspire to learn more about a career in this booming industry. Additionally, community support and outreach are near and dear to my heart. Toys for Tots, Help a Child Smile, and No One Goes Hungry - Welland have all been passion projects of mine. Our company's values are supporting community projects and investing in local philanthropic endeavors. I’d love to connect with other leaders who share those values and collaborate on ways we can continue to support our local communities.
