About Jamie Wheaton

Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2005 from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) in 2008. Since graduating, I have worked in private practice treating a variety of orthopaedic and pelvic health concerns. I have a special interest in (and really a passion for) women and men's pelvic health. Since 2011, I have travelled across Canada and the United States completing postgraduate training relating to urinary and bowel incontinence, sexual health and pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause, prostate pain among other dysfunctions for both men and women. I especially love to treat prenatal women for pelvic girdle pain, labour and delivery preparation as well as postpartum recovery including abdominal separation and pelvic floor reconditioning. For years, I have both hosted and guided lectures on pelvic function to hospital staff, Physiotherapy colleagues, patients and mommy groups and labour support groups. I welcome any opportunity to educate men and women on pelvic health. I am certified in acupuncture, myofascial release including both internal visceral (organ) mobilization and external body release techniques and have also completed several traditional orthopaedic physiotherapy post graduate courses. Because pelvic health and Physiotherapy are important to me, I sit on the Committee of Physiotherapy Standards through the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba to improve the pelvic floor standard of care in Manitoba.
