About Jamilah Murrell

Experienced educator, facilitator and mentor with a passion for Social Justice and administration. Building relationships and partnerships while motivating teams and communities towards equity and inclusion. Jamilah has spent the last 8 years working within the criminal justice system, public schools and the nonprofit sector of Greater Boston to address issues of education, rehabilitation, recidivism and social awareness. Creating space to discuss societal issues and systemic abnormalities, Jamilah is motivated to create a future where equity is the norm. Having worked in the prison and educational system, she witnessed first hand how education and access to necessary resources can interrupt the cycle of poverty. This has been a driving factor to continue the work. She is currently an educator with Boston Public Schools working with special needs middle school students. She is not only an educator but an active faculty member always seeking to implement new initiatives and programming. Looking to expand her experience beyond the classroom, she is actively studying for the Salesforce Administrator Certification and creating social awareness programs through Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc Chi Eta Zeta chapter. Her experiences in creating and stewarding partnerships, program development and implementation, streamlining best practices, management and mastering proprietary systems positively affected past and current places of employment. She brings strong interpersonal communication and mediation skills to any work space. She enjoys working on teams because collective thinking allows for others to bring their specialized skills to the forefront, developing stronger teammates along the way.
