Hicks is currently representing alleged celebrity phone hacker Christopher Chaney, who is accused of illegally accessing the e-mail accounts of more than 50 celebrities, including actress Scarlett Johansson and pop singer Christina Aguilera. His past work includes a 2010 case where he won a not guilty verdict for his client Nyisha Davis who was facing two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon after her car struck the mother of her boyfriend’s mistress. Hicks also successfully defended Michael McCarthy, a 60-year-old former U.S. Marine from felony assault and battery charges on a police officer in San Bernardino County in 2008 despite the testimony of several officers.
