Jamon Maple is a versatile tenor and voice specialist bridging Eastern and Western musical traditions. With a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Boston University and an M.M. & Adv. Cert. in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from New York University, Jamon has built a career spanning continents, genres, and cultures.Currently an Adjunct Professor of Voice and Associate Director of the Contemporary Vocal Workshop at New York University, Jamon previously taught at Marymount Manhattan School. He serves on the board of the National Association of Teachers of Singing's (NATS) NYC Chapter, co-chairing their Student Auditions event.Jamon's performances have graced prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, and David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, where he's performed in Korean and Chinese. His versatility shines through his work in classical music, opera, and musical theatre, taking on diverse roles and repertoire.Jamon's career expanded internationally with his success in South Korea. Appearances on TV shows 'Fantastic Duo' and 'I Can See Your Voice' amassed millions of viewers. As one of few African American artists excelling in Korean music, Jamon has released three original Korean ballad singles and worked as an English lyricist for Korean drama OSTs.His cultural diplomacy efforts have earned significant recognition. Jamon has performed his original composition "We United" at South Korean government events, including a presidential gathering. He was honored with the South Korean President's official watch, a prestigious symbol of appreciation for his artistry.Jamon's influence extends beyond performance. He has conducted worldwide masterclasses, including a 3-day vocal workshop in Shanghai for China's largest private arts education company. He regularly judges at KoreaFest in North Carolina and has adjudicated several national and international singing competitions.Throughout his career, Jamon has remained committed to education.
