About Jan Ackermann

Just started working as an Senior Specialist Group Reporting within thyssenkrupp AG. In the future I will be responsible to manage and support the Business intelligence initiatives within the Corporate Function Controlling, Accounting & Risk for the whole group. I was a Director – IT Business Intelligence Solutions working as Center of Excellence Lead for the global CoE Market and Business Intelligence with several years experience providing a strong business and technical background on SAP BW and arcplan Enterprise implementations. I was responsible for creating the global Center of Excellence with member in six countries (England, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Mexico and USA) and steering off-shore ressources. I have an in-depth understanding of SAP R/3 and SQL data sources as well as the design of Management Information Systems, honed in a variety of international projects with the thyssenkrupp Group. In the past I was engaged on a critical project at ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA ( now Outokumpu Stainless USA) whose success is dependent on my skills in all stages of the development cycle: requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment and end user training abilities but more important to manage this project with team members in different continents. As Project Manager in these environments I have reliably demonstrated an excellent ability to translate business requirements of the top management into scalable technical solutions. Within several projects I was responsible to manage team members in different countries (Germany, USA and Italy) and guide the top management to design high end Management Information Systems. Within the last years I had several speaking engagements within ThyssenKrupp as well as on public conferences with the focus on the international Roll-Out of Management Information Systems.
