About Jan Blockx
I am an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp’s Faculty of Law, where my research and teaching concerns European economic law, including competition law, technology law and sectoral regulation. I am also a visiting professor at Kyushu University and an assessor (member of the decision-making body) of the Belgian Competition Authority. Prior to joining the academy, I worked for 10 years as a private practitioner in international law firms Freshfields and Hogan Lovells. Before that, I studied law and philosophy at the KU Leuven, the University of Edinburgh and King’s College London. Using my experience from law practice and the broad perspective fostered by my philosophical background, I strive to develop and transmit cross-disciplinary insights through my lectures and publications.
