About Jan Dohle

outdoor & military background #studied geography & politics During my studies, I’ve been to Iceland all the way to Southeast Asia, from the wide plains of the Serengeti to the heights of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The highlight of my travels was discovering the vast landscapes of the post-Soviet republics of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Sleeping at the shores of lake Issyk-Kul, hiking the Tian Shan mountain ranges to the high Pamirs Mountains and the long way south to the Wakhan Corridor at the Afghan border were the most physically and mentally demanding experiences of my life. They have shaped who I am today and have helped me realise the things that really matter in life. I have a burning desire to be outdoors. Hiking, climbing, mountaineering and trail running are the things I love doing - and are part of the reason I joined Bergfreunde back in 2016. I started as a content manager and now have the pleasure to lead and develop a team of 16 content Managers, copy writers and translators.
