About Jan Ebben

Jan is Country Director Germany for NAVIS Human Resources, the leading Indian Human Resources Development organization for placements in Japan and Germany. He organizes the language training, intercultural traning and professional preparation for Indian talents aspiring to work in Germany and Europe. He is based in Düsseldorf and Bangalore. Before joining NAVIS Human Resources, Jan was Senior Head, Apprenticeship Division, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), New Delhi. He promoted industry engagement and advised on international best practices in vocational education and training. His most imminent areas of interest at NSDC were the law of apprenticeship, training of trainers, standards and VET research. The engagement with NSDC was facilitated by GIZ. Before India, he worked in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he advised on mobilizing employers for apprenticeships, developing coordination structures in chambers of commerce and industry, writing training standards for banking, IT and retail, as well as on secondary school law reform. Previously he worked at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre in Bonn, Germany as a network developer and conference organizer. For this he was on leave from his position as project manager for international strategy development at the German Federal Institute of Vocational Education (BIBB). He also served as program officer for adult and continuing education at the German Adult Education Association (DVV), program specialist for professional and secondary exchange programs at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), and teacher trainer for social studies teachers at the Close Up Foundation in Washington, D.C.
