It is my distinct pleasure to provide a letter of reference for Jan Hunter. I have known Jan since the beginning of 1998 when she commenced her distinguished tenure as a trustee on the Thames Valley District School Board. Jan’s knowledge, skills and abilities were clearly recognized by her colleagues when she was elected to serve as Chairperson of the Thames Valley District School Board. Jan demonstrated her organizational and management expertise in handling a diverse number of challenging issues at our Board table. This was certainly evident as our Board worked through a variety of issues generated by the amalgamation of four boards. She brings a conscientious attention to detail to all issues but is always cognizant of the importance of the human and humane component of all matters. During her successive terms, she worked very positively to build a team approach amongst Trustees and Senior Administration. Our enhanced Safe Schools Policy was developed under Jan’s watchful eye as Board Chair as well as the initiation of the provincial Transportation Consortium Policy.
