About Jan Kolar

I'm currently working as an M&A Associate at Deloitte in Prague, focusing on financial due diligence and vendor due diligence for deals across the CEE region. I've worked on projects in e-commerce, logistics, and real estate, supporting both strategic and financial investors. Before moving into M&A, I spent two years as a consultant in Deloitte’s Finance & Performance team. There, I helped companies improve their planning and forecasting processes, mainly using Anaplan. I worked on projects for clients across Europe and Japan, from rebuilding internal budgeting models to supporting incentive planning tools. Outside of Deloitte, I’ve been involved in a few side projects — co-founding a financial literacy course, helping run events for Klub Investorů, and representing students in different university initiatives. I’ve studied both in the Czech Republic and Canada, worked briefly in Vancouver in a hands-on role, and try to balance the analytical side of my work with time spent outdoors, running, hiking, or playing chess.
