About Jan Peeters

River systems and their sedimentary records are my main interest. Of course from source to sink - so all the way from their headwaters, through their valleys, into their deltas and estuaries. While being based in The Netherlands, I'm researching the Nile River in Egypt and Sudan, and the greater African Sahel region. I am a Quaternary Geologist by training with a keen eye for detail and result-oriented solutions. A key component throughout my recent work is organizing international fieldwork in close collaboration with local partners and globally recognized colleagues and institutions.
