About Jan Steikowski

In my school years, I didn't really know what to do with my life. I dropped out of school without any real plan. After some family struggles, I made a social year to figure out what I want to do in the future. After that year, I still had no real plan. But because I liked cars, I thought it would be a good idea to do an apprenticeship as a car mechanic. During these years I figured out that I can really do some great things when I am interested and motivated in a topic. Sadly, due to some health issues, I needed to change the job a few months after the end of my apprenticeship. I decided to give studying 'Motorsport Engineering' a try and moved to Stralsund, a small city in the north of Germany. In the following years, I developed into a highly motivated student and finished as one of the best students in my year. After that, I started my career at the MicroNova, a german company which supplies many car manufacturer with HiL systems. Everything looked very good career-wise. In the timespan of 8 months i got promoted to the team leader of the competence team modeling in the consulting department. But I had some other plans for my personal life. I decided to move to Thailand to see a little bit more from the world and to explore my own capabilities a little bit more. Right now, I live in Bangkok, study the Thai language and culture, as well as Web Development to extend my knowledge and skillset. But more important: I am searching for something that I want to do for the rest of my life. Something, that really fulfills me. That I REALLY want to stick to. Furthermore, I want to build work around my life and not a life around my work. Let's see where this journey is taking me.
