About Jan Svarc

I've been working in ICT area since 1997, both in technical and managerial positions. From Linux, AIX and Windows administrator, through the TeamLead of a team up to 20 employees, to the leader of international virtual team of 3rd line support engineers. As those posts involve a lot of different skills, through the period of time I have mastered my technical knowledge in various areas (like Windows, Linux, AIX, NetApp storage, virtualization, etc.) as well as soft competencies (like communication, conflict management, stress management, etc.) to an advance level. In the time of mentioned work assignments, I have always received positive feedback from my managers and have been formally recognized by them for my contribution towards company’s success. In 2011 I was awarded by a membership of Top Performance Club on international level. I am an open-minded, methodical, amenable, and results oriented team player with a proven track recording in a decision making and a problem solving. I am experienced in fast major incident resolution and root cause analysis with immediate workaround proposals and later permanent solution finding. For some time I was also focused to work with people. My main activities were focused to people development on department and on company level. I was also actively cooperating on talent management program on department level. I successfully passed leadership talent program and improved my soft competencies in area of team management, communication and leadership competencies and stress management. Currently I am deeply involved in automation. I was in position of automation officer responsible for automation on department level and now I am an architect in a team developing automation on company level. Close cooperation with multiple platform engineering teams as well as automation officers from various departments allows me to fulfill defined requirements to a central automation architecture in my responsibility.
