My Ideology Most universities now utilize Learning Management Systems, a variety of teaching and learning tools, as well as mobile interfaces. Commitment to maintaining current, cutting-edge technologies is critical to student success. The number of tools that have emerged just in the last 10 years are astounding, as is rapid growth of their use in higher education. Who could have imagined that in 2020 all universities would be forced to quickly transition to fully online learning as a result of the COVID-19 virus? Because of these technologies and the universities that embrace them, learning remains a constant, successful achievement. I look forward to the education technology enhancements on the horizon. My Experience Technology and Information Systems, 1988-present (corporate and higher education): My technology-based career began with self-taught Dbase programming and basic departmental networking. From there my skills expanded to Lotus ccMail and Notes System Administration and support, as well as desktop software installation and support. In 1998 I redirected my technology career to hardware installation, repair and support. As educational environments began to adopt technology as part of the teaching and learning experience, in 2001 I took on a new challenge as a WebCT and Blackboard System Administrator. I was responsible for the system, integrated components and user support. I chose to stay within the eLearning realm and continued my Blackboard System Administration and support at a different university in 2008. My experience led me to becoming the manager of the team I had been a part of for 7 years. Presently I am an IT Project Coordinator for academic technology initiatives at Virginia Commonwealth University.
