About Jane Bruegger

I enjoy learning about all things science and have a strong passion for microbiology and DNA. In December 2022, I graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, but I continued to intentionally pursue additional coursework in immunology, microbiology, and genetics out of a strong desire to learn. In January 2025, I obtained a Master of Science in forensic science, where I have since discovered just how interrelated the biological and chemical fields really are in relation to the world around us. My goal is to one day pursue a PhD in microbiology or molecular biology in order to continue pursuing my passions. In my current position, I have gained invaluable knowledge and experience in various analytical techniques including, but not limited to NMR, ICP-OES, HPLC, IC, GC-MS/GC-FID, UV-Visual spectroscopy, Karl Fisher titrations, and various types of wet chemistry titrations and digestions. From previous job experience, I have had the opportunity to intermittently work on projects that introduced me to the fundamentals of PCR, ELISA, MALDI-TOF, and various methods of microscopic analysis, including SEM. While working in Higher Education as a Resident Assistant in the dormitories, I developed several interpersonal skills including leadership, organization, and conflict resolution. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my very needy kitty-cat. I also enjoy working out when my schedule permits or spending the warmer Colorado days with a motorcycle ride on the back roads. I always love learning new things and strive to continuously improve myself in mind and body. Whether I am taking a new class, pursuing a new hobby, or elbows deep in trying to fix that one stubborn mechanical issue on the motorcycle, I can never back down from a challenge. Even in the tough times, personal experience has taught me that a bad mood is no match for a good playlist, so plug in and keep pushing forward!
