About Jane Conway

I have extensive experience in healthcare delivery and education and training in higher education and vocational education, particularly in relation to health worker education. My research and consultancy activity links to my expertise and experience in health service delivery improvement and reform at the point of care through to strategic policy analysis and advice. My background as a clinician, educator, researcher and policy adviser has resulted a diverse range of knowledge and experience in health service delivery and education and training of the health workforce. I have research and consultancy experience in primary, acute and aged care. My particular expertise is in models of care, service design, skills mix; workforce development; and, education and training. My experience includes clinical and corporate governance processes including quality and safety; human and other resource management, industrial and regulatory frameworks for health workforce practice, and health service re-design including aspects of changing skill mix and skills escalation and the use of telehealth and mobile health. I have a strong background in implementation and evaluation methodologies and work effectively with stakeholders as a facilitator and change agent at various levels within the health care and education systems. I have provided consultancy to health and community services and educators in Australia as well Thailand, Indonesia, Canada and the United Kingdom. I have written and delivered leadership and management programs for health service staff for the NSW Health Clinical Excellence Commission as well as several private providers of hospital and other health care services. My philosophical approach to education and research is that they must be grounded in practice and therefore necessitates working effectively with key stakeholders to improve health service delivery.
