About Jane Hall

Jane Hall is a leading health and safety lawyer. Through her Melbourne-based boutique firm Loupe Legal, Jane works with clients from large ASX, private and government organisations on a diverse range of health and safety matters including litigation and criminal prosecutions, safety systems and health and safety frameworks. As well as case work, Jane advises boards and leadership teams to identify and manage health and safety risks, meet their compliance and safety goals and protect their license to operate. Jane has built a reputation for her ability to navigate the highly complex nature of health and safety law, guiding and advising her clients through the process. “I love solving complex problems with my clients. If my clients experience a serious safety event, I partner with them to contain the consequential risks that inevitably arise. In often difficult and time sensitive situations I am their key advisor on all aspects of the enforcement action they face, including litigation.” Before establishing her specialist firm in 2019, Jane was a Partner with Seyfarth Shaw LLP, a Partner with Corrs Chambers Westgarth and a Director, Enforcement Group for WorkSafe. She is the recipient of the 2015 International Legal Technology Association Award for the crisis management app Crisis Covered. Jane is currently a Member of the Safety, Rehabilitation & Compensation Commission (SRCC), an Independent Member of the Health, Safety & Culture Committee for Court Services Victoria and a Board Member for the Australian Community Support Organisation (ASCO). In 2020, Jane developed Loupe Lore, a workplace digital training platform to bring learning about health and safety law to all Australian workplaces. Loupe Lore’s short courses use the power of analogy – using stories, examples and experiences of real people and businesses – to explore and understand ideas. Post-COVID-19 lockdowns, Jane is exploring joint venture opportunities with a number of fintech partners and top tier law firms to roll out workplace training in the 2023 - 24 financial year.
