About Jane Harding

Commercial, strategic and creative, I manage the generation of non-fare revenue across all of Nexus's assets, including the Tyne and Wear Metro and Shields Ferry. I am responsible for the strategy that underpins this revenue, and for all commercial revenue contracts and relationships. A trusted advisor, I also provide commercial support to every other department in Nexus. A qualified lawyer, with significant experience in both the public and private sector, I am now focused on further developing the commercial side of Nexus. Here are just some of the things I lead on: our portfolio of commercial retail properties, real estate and airspace development opportunities, filming and photography on our infrastructure, IP and brand licensing; including hardlines and softlines, commercialisation, control, and protection of IP, merchandising, station, roadside, and on-train advertising, commercial sponsorships, and commercial media and partnerships. I set the strategy and my team deliver in work areas that include: our retail property asset management, introducing new income channels, improving processes and profitability on existing income channels, running Nexus’s Film Office that manages commercial filming across Nexus’s estate, supporting and working closely with the diverse range of existing and new retail tenants across our estate.
