About Jane Iredale

My professional career has been led by my passion and commitment to advancing Gender Equality and Social Justice. With over 25 years of international leadership experience spanning the humanitarian – development nexus, I have engaged in a diverse range of interdisciplinary programming across Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, and South East Asia. A seasoned management professional, my experience covers leadership change management and transitions; driving quality program development, strategy and impact; securing resources for robust program implementation and developing dynamic, inclusive and agile teams. I have worked across a broad range of thematic areas, which has deepened my understanding of the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice and the importance of supporting and elevating local voices and action to drive and sustain positive change. Thematic areas include: Gender Equality; Health Rights; Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Adaptation/Resilience, WASH and Governance. I enjoy nurturing relations and influence for positive change with diverse stakeholders including local communities and NGO partners and alliances, a wide range of donors, government authorities, INGOs, UN agencies and networks. I hold a Masters Degree in Development Economics from the University of London. My experience includes working across stable, rapidly changing and complex humanitarian contexts in Nigeria, Haiti, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Turkey, Mali, Burundi, Uganda, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Lesotho, South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Syria, Canada and the US.
