The Brain Injury Association of Georgian (BIAG) is a nonprofit charity, serving as the VOICE of BRAIN INJURY in Georgia to individuals and their families, friends, veterans and service providers. An injury to the brain can happen at anytime, to anyone. We strive to improve the quality of life for individuals who have been impacted through our free programs and services helping them to navigate challenges they face for a lifetime. OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:>Resource Facilitation Program (RFP) for people with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), their families, caregivers, and community to navigate medical and general life challenges after a TBI. One-on-one consultation; Person-centered and supported decision-making approaches, with a focus on goals supporting transition into home, family, jobs, and community; follow-up provided for two years, continuing to support changing needs while building on personal strengths-Bilingual Resource Facilitator available helping our underserved populationInformation & Resource Program work with all brain injuries, connects to you to other brain injury resources in your community; visits newly injured at local hospitals; provides a care package of information about brain injury; connects you with peers via phone, email or by visiting one of our many support groups in person or social media.>Toll Free gethelp@biaga.org>A Statewide Network of Support Groups; Social media through groups on Facebook, Instagram, twitter.>Camp for survivors with a respite camp for caregivers when funding is available - the only brain injury camp for adults in Ga >Comprehensive website conferences >Statewide Summit for support group leaders >Advocacy for safety laws, services, and needed public policy changes>Public awareness and prevention programs>Helping individuals become self advocatesFunding for Brain Injury Association of Georgia's various programs comes from the generosity of our constituents and supporters as well as membership fees, conferences/seminars, private and corporate donations, special events, and state grants.
