About Jane Kamara

Professional with extensive experience in diverse industries including national and international media, recruitment, training, leisure and more recently social services. Experience in leadership, management, training, coaching, business development spanning twenty-five years. Throughout my career I have developed skills in motivational practices providing supervisions and coaching for staff and apprentices, strategic thinking, research and analytical skills, and positive effective communication at all levels. I have a masters degree in Organisational and Occupational Psychology and a Batchelors degree in Psychology, my main interests are people, empowerment and achievement. Self motivated and target driven, positive can do attitude, always striving to do better and encourage others to do likewise. Instrumental in achieving Ofsted Outstanding grade as Director of a workbased learning training centre, acquiring funding via bids; personally achieved top sales four consecutive years as Business Development manager, national leisure organisation. I have experience in mental health, volunteered with Mind for two years, I conducted paid research for McPin on behalf of Mind. Additional work in mental health was with IAPT as assistant psychologist, where I conducted assessments and was tasked to promote the service to schools, pharmacists and other agencies. Recently I worked for a family assessment organisation where I conducted research on secondary PTSD, managed cases, produced written reports for court, represented the organisation in court, provided supervision, training on mental health and coaching for staff. Additionally, during my employment I have conducted and produced viability assessments for solicitors, assisted in disciplinary matters and HR. My varied career choices are all representative of my ability to work effectively with people and therefore reflective of my communication skills. I thrive in an environment where I can use my skills, creativity and experience and where innovation and integrity are valued. I am currently undertaking a diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy as I am always striving to improve and learn.
