About Jane Leckert

My previous employment history has allowed me to excel in the administrative and program management areas of organizations however my passion to help others on a personal level motivated me to go back to school and earn my Masters in Counseling. I completed my Masters of Arts in Human Service Counseling; Crisis Response and Trauma, in December from Liberty University and am now looking to apply my degree in a position that I can serve others while working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. I feel that my passion to help individuals in our community who are struggling to make positive choices for themselves based on their environmental upbringing, and/or cognitive abilities, aligns with the Social Services Division of Prince William County Government’s mission to help struggling individuals overcome the negative obstacles in their life so that they can reestablish their self-worth, and develop positive goals for their future. Working in the Prince William County school system as a substitute teacher, and my work as a child advocate for the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) in Prince William county, has allowed me to work with children at various levels in the education system as well as with children, and their families, who are identified as abused or neglected by the courts. Working with children in both of these settings has solidified my desire to be part of an organization that strives to help individuals become better versions of themselves with the proper care and treatment opportunities.
