About Jane McCarthy

As an experienced health promoter and educator, I have dedicated my career to enabling individuals, organizations, and communities to achieve optimal well-being. My academic background in health promotion, health behaviour, and public health (HBSc, MSc, and MPH), combined with progressive experience in the healthcare and non-profit sectors, equips me with the knowledge and skills required to lead in the development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives aimed to build awareness, change behaviour, and influence public policy for improved mental, social, and physical well-being. Whether working in primary prevention, chronic and life-limiting disease management, substance misuse education, or caregiver wellness, I have consistently been driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference. My super power is my compassion, kindness, and respect towards others which is reflected in my leadership style and how I connect and build relationships with team members, collaborators, partners, and clients. In a time when these qualities seem to be in short supply I can be counted on to follow these attributes as my North Star. To promote my own well-being, you'll find me at the curling rink all winter, on the tennis court, a walking trail, or in the garden in the summer, and most importantly connecting with family and friends enjoying good food, conversation, and as many laughs as possible!
