I’m Jane Milton, one of the UK’s leading food industry experts and founder of Jane Milton Ltd, a specialist food & drink consultancy. With over 35 years of experience harnessed predominantly in the food industry in the UK and helping overseas businesses enter the UK market. I have a proven track record working to embed growth through building connections and curating teams of industry specialists to support and fast-track business success. Helping producers, brand owners and innovators develop their ideas and find the fastest, most cost-effective route to market. I started working life with Greggs PLC in Scotland responsible for creating and standardising the new product offer, across 80 sites. It became incredibly successful and profitable, rolled out UK wide with my support and became the foundation for the business, transforming high street bakers to food to go, undoubtedly contributing significantly to them being the most relevant ‘bakery business’ in the UK now. In fact, I’ve been helping food companies develop their business strategies, pinpointing attractive market opportunities and connecting people in the industry since 1986. A lot has changed since then, but some things stay the same, like my unwavering commitment to my clients and my absolute focus on providing all my customers with full access to my expertise and experience to provide them with personalised, cost-effective solutions to help them grow their businesses in alignment with their values. I work with my clients on a project basis or as a retained adviser and, once we’ve outlined your scope of work, I carefully curate a team of food industry specialists – many of whom are recognised leaders in their sphere – to develop and implement exactly the right strategy for you.
