About Jane Slemon

As a teacher, I aim to optimize learning environments so we are all pushing ourselves, motivated by the pleasure of learning. As a nurse and director, I support individuals and families as they find their way at the end of life. The narrative they weave brings potent meaning to the goals they carry and our team does its level best to honour them. As a musician, I love to play with other people, listening for and responding to the beat, the statement, the person's style of communication, the present iteration of the tune or song, never the same twice. I like the way learning in one of these realms teaches me something about respect, execution, and coherence in another. As a writer, I try to get the drafts done so I can get to the re-writing where the power is for me: those rare moments of clarity in my own thinking are a kind of surprise.
