About Jane Wagner

From cinema vérité to impressionistic documentaries, Jane C. Wagner’s critically acclaimed work has been screened and broadcast in countries throughout the world. She has tackled a wide range of subjects—such as social justice, AIDS, war time rape, LGBT civil rights, teenage sexuality, child abuse, sustainable energy, art, science, ethics, and education–garnering dozens of top honors, such as two National Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cultural Programming, and, two Sundance Film Festival Awards, including the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary. Support for her work has come from organizations such as the American Film Institute, National Endowment for the Arts, Rockefeller Foundation, MacArthur Foundation, ITVS and the Sundance Documentary Fund. Wagner has had the pleasure of collaborating with documentary filmmakers in the roles of editor and consulting producer. In addition to serving on the board of directors of several media non-profits, including the Independent Television Service and Independent Filmworks Inc, Wagner has enjoyed jurying film festivals, participating on funding panels, guest lecturing and nurturing the next generation of filmmakers.
