About Jane Williams

Ms. Williams began her construction career in 1969 as the earliest woman on Salem Nuclear Generating Station (2-Unit 1100 MW PWR); she received 13 promo-tions to Field Staff Assistant, the 1st woman to hold the title for United Engineers & Constructors. When OSHA was chartered in 1970 she receivedl related documents for the Resident Manager that began her knowledge of OSHA. She left UE & C ten years later for Arizona to continue her construction career. In 1992 she started her WBE general contracting firm, acquired her B1 general contractor's license. With safety & health issues consuming much of her time, she transition to full time practice as a safety & health professional and continues with her firm, A-Z Safety Resources, Inc. performing in-depth resource, worker instruction, program development. She has received (June 2010) the Distinguished Safety to Service Award by the National Safety Council and was recognized at its Congress Oct 2010. This is NSC's highest recognition awards. Recognized for her knowledge, skills and professional abilities, she was appointed as public representative to the Federal Advisory Committee for Construction Safety & Health and served three consecutive appointments (7yrs); is member of ANSI A-10 Committee American National Standards Construction & Demolition Operations, Subcommittee Chair for ANSI A10-25 Sanitation in Construction (published),co-chair Confine Space and member of others; recognized by Engineering News Record as a Top 25 Newsmakers of 2006; Director on National Safety Council Board of Directors & past Chair - NSC's Construction Division; Certified Professional Environmental Auditor; Past NAWIC National President and Certified Construction Associate. Specialties: Site Specific Program development, Construction 30 & 10 hour instruction; Ed center instructor 500, 510 etc; contractor program development; OSHA resolution negotiator.
