About Janeane Weprin

I have worked in higher education for over 30 years. For six years, I worked at a community college, where I taught GED, pre-college, and college level math classes, and tutored in the Math Lab. For the past 22 years I worked in higher education administration for The Art Institutes. My positions included Program Coordinator for Liberal Arts, Program Coordinator for Math and Science, Director for General Education, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Director of Assessment, and Transitional Studies Coordinator. In addition, I was responsible for the management of the testing and tutoring centers at both locations. I was responsible for the leadership and management of the general education departments including curriculum development and assessment; faculty recruitment, development, and management; and class scheduling. In my years with the Art Institutes I worked with faculty revise the mathematics curriculum several times, particularly the transitional courses. Also, I have managed over 50 full-time and adjunct instructors as well as student tutors. I chaired a self-study committee for regional accreditation in 2005. Our team’s efforts culminated in the college achieving initial regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. One of my additional responsibilities during this time was to develop and implement the college’s initial assessment of student learning program, and to train the faculty and staff in assessment.
