About Janelle Burd

I am an associate mechanical engineer in the Burns & McDonnell Aviation & Federal Group, bringing more than 30 years of experience and specializing in passenger boarding bridges, airport ramp services, aircraft hydrant fueling systems, military fuel systems, and HVAC systems design. Since 1990, I’ve worked on airport ramp services such as aircraft hydrant fueling systems, aircraft passenger boarding bridges, and pre-conditioned air. My hydrant fueling system experience includes bulk storage, pumping facilities, refueling stands, unloading positions, and fire protection including My pre-conditioned air experience includes both Point-of-Use and central plant type systems. I’ve also been involved with the evaluation and modification of existing facilities and the design of new facilities. From commercial airports to military facilities, my projects have taken me across the U.S. and around the world. As a mechanical designer for PBB and PCA ramp services systems, my experience includes the development and review of Cx plans, owners project requirements and basis of design. I have also completed observation, verification and inspection of construction activities as well as participation, witness, oversight and review of Cx functional performance tests.
