About Janet Armstrong

Chef Janet’s job is all about bringing products to life as the meals that fuel life, connect people, and inspire. Her career is rooted in the culinary application of insights and technical leadership that creates business growth through solving user tensions. Where food science and culinary arts meet a passion for people and foods focused on making the world a better place. Janet has a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology, with minors in Nutrition, and Culiology© from California Polytechnic University Pomona. Janet began her career in food as a Personal Chef in Orange County California where she ran her business, Dinner Fairy Personal Chef, with the purpose of helping families eat better at-home meals. She joined Mars Food in 2014 as a product developer working on contract for one year. She was hired as a full time Associate in July 2015 with a dual role in product development of the Mars Food, Foodservice portfolio, and technical sales. In this role she developed a deep understanding of the customer and was able to add new value to the sales organization by integrated the consumer view of solving for the full meal, showing how Mars Food products create mealtime solutions that drive the category, and shopper baskets. In 2017 Janet moved with the North America Mars Food business headquarters from LA to Chicago, building out new demonstration and test kitchens in two Chicago locations. She has picked up numerous roles in her time with the business, and she currently is reporting to Marketing as the Culinary Insights Senior Manager. In this role she stays involved with the innovation and development of new products by collaborating with cross-functional teams and developers in Europe and maintains her responsibility for connecting directly with our priority customers across the US and Canada.
