About Janet Kops

I have 30 years experience in Nursing and IT. The last 15 years in IT as an RN Clinical Applications Analyst. My experiences and accomplishments provide an excellent clinical background for creating and supporting clinical systems. I have excellent computer and software skills. I have extensive knowledge of all Microsoft applications, Centricity, CMR, Cattails and Cerner. I am accountable, work well without direct supervision. I have trained and supported clinic and hospital software within the hospital and clinic. I have written training material for RNs and physicians and created Captivate movies and Power Points for physicians. My duties also included support of other hospital software programs by coordinating software implementation and upgrades with vendors, end users, training staff, operations staff, and other members of the project team. I Maintained, developed and supported all areas of Computer Provider Order Entry in Centricity and Cerner. I developed and maintained the order catalog, ordering screens and order sets in Centricity and Cerner for the Hospital/Clinic systems upgrades. I worked directly with providers to create service specific order sets for ease of use for the individual medical departments in Centricity and Cerner. I assisted in writing training material for implementation of Cerner. I trained the trainers and physicians. I supported and maintained additional clinical areas of Cerner and provided 24 hour on-call support when scheduled. During my 15 years as a Med/Surg RN I continually participated in additional activities -As CN3 I was a resource as the Information Specialist -Attended a conference on Essentials of Communication -Member of the Medication Reconciliation Team -Participated in the staffing committee and charge nurse committee -Attended several nursing conferences for caring for the Med/Surg patient -Participated in the Point of Care Initiative -Participated in the Collaborative Care Initiative
