About Janet McCabe
In the context of my research and service - I work with people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their supporters (e.g. families, caregivers, health care providers). Using qualitative and mixed methods approaches, rooted in critical theory I explore health promotion, disease prevention, and the social determinants of health. In doing so I aim to positively impact the lives of people with IDD, their supporters, and contribute to the education of health care providers (current and future)- especially nurses. I also am a proud faculty member of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech Nursing, teaching in the nursing programs, and currently I am also the Associate Dean, Undergraduate within our Faculty.
