After an architectural career of almost 25 years, I found myself laid off during the “great recession”, with dim prospects of finding a new job in the field. So, I chose to welcome the opportunity to explore other avenues. After jobs with the US Census Bureau, which included analyzing workloads by geography and creating requisitions, and completing background investigations with an online HR services company, I discovered the role of talent sourcing. My technical and analytical skills formed the basis of my 2nd career. I find great satisfaction in finding “purple squirrels”, in constantly learning new skills and methods to connect the perfect candidate with the perfect job opportunity, in managing the sourcing department at PDS Tech, and in teaching recruiters how to find the candidates they need.
