About Janetta Shepard

I am an Ecologist and Professional Wetland Scientist with a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Colorado. My experience includes project management; wildlife, migratory bird and raptor surveys; wetland delineations and permitting; wetland and stream mitigation monitoring, special status species surveys/monitoring; permitting at the federal, state and local levels; data compilation and technical report writing including USFWS Biological Assessments, assistance with NEPA documents (EAs, EISs); and site evaluations. Over the past 3.5 years I've conducted biological surveys and characterizations for streams, wetlands, nesting raptors, and special status species, as well as post-construction compliance wetland and stream crossing monitoring for the Ruby Gas Pipeline project in the high desert of Nevada and southeastern Oregon. I've been an active volunteer at the Birds of Prey Foundation's ICU for the past 4.5 years where I assist with caring for injured raptors. I've been an active member of the Colorado Riparian Association since 1994 and have served as Secretary on the board of directors. In 2013 I became a Volunteer Naturalist for Boulder County Parks and Open Space.
