About Jani Stenius

I'm the CIO of Asset Allocation at OP Asset Management, leading a team managing multi-asset strategies across retail, private banking, and institutional portfolios. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked across the full spectrum of portfolio management — from emerging markets equity to global tactical allocation — and led teams with mandates ranging from discretionary solutions to long-term strategic allocation. My background combines hands-on investment experience with leadership in both Nordic and international settings, including nearly 17 years at Handelsbanken in Stockholm and Helsinki before joining OP. I enjoy building high-performing teams, shaping investment frameworks, and translating complex market dynamics into actionable portfolio strategies for diverse client segments. Outside the office, I’m a certified charter boat captain and skipper of S/y La Flaquita, a competitive sailing boat based in Helsinki. We race actively in national and international regattas — an environment where good planning and strong teamwork are essential. I enjoy applying the same principles in both sailing and investing: prepare well, stay focused, and work as a team to adapt when conditions shift.
