About Janine Kumar

Kia ora! I am a Master of Public Health graduate currently working as an equity advisor for breast and cervical screening in the Wellington region. As tangata Tiriti/tauiwi, I am committed to reducing health inequities for Māori and other underserved communities in Aotearoa. I acquire strong research and analytical skills with a particular interest in using patient/consumer and whānau experiences to drive health service quality improvements. I strive to learn from our diverse communities and ensure their voices are reflected in my mahi. Currently, I am working towards expanding my existing skill set by working with a range of people both in the health system and out in the community, making connections, and acquiring valuable experiences so that I can make a meaningful contribution towards achieving equitable health outcomes in Aotearoa.
