About Janis Sinton

My husband, Roger Sinton and myself founded TasteTech in 1992. Wanting to have more control of our destiny, Roger identified a niche in the food ingredients market for microencapsulation technology which became the foundation of our business plan. I fully supported Roger in this venture, despite having three young children and a busy household to run. After learning what a balance sheet was, I went on to produce accounts up to audit, took responsibility for all purchasing, quoting and costing, as well as being company secretary and taking on a general management role. TasteTech grew organically for many years with all profits being ploughed back in to the company. Then in 2007 Roger was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died within seven weeks. I was the obvious person to pick up the reins due to my understanding and knowledge of TasteTech. Our son Rob also joined TasteTech at that time. We quickly identified the need to grow the business, setting a challenging goal to double the company’s turnover and profitability in 5 years. This target was smashed in 2012 with a turnover exceeding £5m. Since then TasteTech has continued its strong global growth trajectory and we plan for this to continue in to the future. Being an independent family business is really important to us!
